Plum Tree Program Treatments and fertilizations
How to grow plum trees

All plants, fruit plants in particular, from which we always ask for abundant quality production, need adequate nourishment because even in the vegetative rest phase they are active: they absorb and metabolize nutrients.
We can, therefore, argue that the plants never stop feeding and it is good, therefore, to consider the beginning of the new production year already after harvesting, or rather, from July-August.
To obtain good fruiting in the following year, it will be good to start providing them with nourishment as early as summer, when the current year's production has not yet ended, favoring the accumulation of reserve substances in the wood (roots, branches, branches).

Plum tree: calendar of post-harvest treatments
- Welgro Complex (dosage: 250ml/hl)
- Phyle-N (dosage: 400ml/hl)
- Coptrel (dosage: 30ml/hl), copper-based product to combat and prevent choreine and bacteriosis
The purpose of this intervention is to enrich the reserves of nitrogen, potassium and microelements.
Potassium strengthens cell walls, making them more resistant to winter temperatures. Coptrel, on the other hand, fights viruses and bacteriosis.
Leaf Drop
An important intervention to be placed when the leaves have largely fallen will be:
- Kendal-Te (dosage: 200ml/hl)
October-November
During this period, we will set up a defense strategy against monilia, corineum and bacteriosis. To counteract the settlement of fungi and bacteria, it is advisable to intervene with copper-based treatments with
- Layer (dosage: 100ml/hl). It is a specific adhesive for copper-plated products; it ensures a very long persistence, so the covering action of the copper is prolonged for 1/2 months depending on the rainfall
- Cobre Nordox (at 250 gr)
February first decade
The plum tree in bloom is a riot of flowers, there are thousands of them and they absorb large amounts of energy. If the plant does not have appropriate reserves, it risks a weak fruit set with many small and undernourished fruits that will fall and leave few and not very homogeneous fruits. It will be advisable to carry out an additional, or even two, nutritional treatment with
- Last-N (dosage: 1 lt./hl)
- Welgro Complex (dosage: 200 gr/hl)
After about a week, treat against mealybugs, eggs of aphids, mites and cidies:
- Oliocin Plus (dosage: 5lt/hl)
For an optimal result, it is advisable to use 2000 litres of solution per hectare by means of a double intervention, crossing or reversing the direction of travel. Further antimonily and corineo treatment will then be necessary in the second half of February:
- Layer (dosage: 200 ml/hl)
- Cobre Nordox (dosage: 200 gr/hl), In case of lack of license, Cobre Nordox can be replaced with Welgro Cu+Zn
March - Vegetative recovery - Pre-flowering
- Vitaseve (dosage: 500 ml/hl)
- Merpan 80 wdg (dosage: 150 g/hl)
- Welgro complex (dosage: 200 ml/hl)
- Redcal (dosage: 200 ml/hl)

How to fight plum insects and pests
During flowering, against thrips:
- Laser (dosage: 30 ml/hl)
- Attracker (dosage: 200 ml/hl), an attractive bait for thrips that doubles the effectiveness of Laser

FRUIT SET OCCURRED
For the control of Cydia Funebrana, monitoring traps must be placed, it will be necessary to regularly check and count the catches, use traps (2 per hectare) with sex pheromones for monitoring.
Install the traps starting in April. If the alarm threshold is reached, intervene with
- Xentari (dosage: 100 gr/hl)
- Azul S-CU (dosage: 200 g/hl), to prevent possible chorine attacks
- Triplex (dosage: 250 gr/hl)
- Inex-A (dosage: 30 cc/hl)
If you want to work with the aim of obtaining high quality fruits , you can carry out 2 or 3 treatments at intervals of 7-10 days with
- Benefit PZ (dosage: 300ml/hl)
- Triplex (dosage: 250gr/hl)
It is essential to monitor the traps punctually and intervene promptly with:
During the growth phase, in addition to Cydia, it is necessary to check for the possible presence of aphids, spiders, mealybugs.
Generally, when the treatment with oliocin has been correctly performed in February, there are no attacks of these parasites, but if there is a need to intervene we propose:
AGAINST APHIDS AND MEALYBUGS
- Movento (dosage: 250 ml/hl, using at least 3,750 liters of product per hectare)
AGAINST RED SPIDER MITE
- Control DMP (dosage: 50-100 ml/hl)
- Shirudo (dosage: 60 gr/hl)
- Inex-A (dosage: 30 ml/hl)
In case of unfavorable climatic conditions, it will be necessary to intervene against monilia and in particular corineo.
Near harvesting, against the Mediterranean fly, carry out one or two treatments with:
Remember to always respect the waiting times for collection.
We are aware that our proposal focuses a lot on nutrition, however we are convinced that a well-nourished and balanced plant produces phytoalexins that make it stronger and therefore able to defend itself. It will therefore be less vulnerable to abiotic and abiotic attacks.

Bottom fertilization of plum trees
In October, organic-nitrogen fertilization is needed that the plant will absorb without transforming it into vegetation, as it will become a reserve substance for vegetative recovery and to improve soil fertility:
- Orgakem 10-5-5 (dosage: approx. 1-2 kg per plant under the canopy, we recommend burying)
January-February
In this period, we will proceed with the completion of the base fertilization, through the use of
- Agromaster 10.10.16 (dosage: 1-2kg per plant)
Support fertilization, fruit growth phase
Even if the fertilizations recommended so far have been carried out, the nutritional needs should be met. However, if there is a large load, it will be good to integrate fertigation with
