Treatment after the olive harvest

Olive tree: Post-harvest intervention by foliar application
Second intervention on olive trees in post-harvest: soil fertilization

Fertilization after the olive harvest
First operation: post-harvest olive foliar treatment
During the harvest, the olive tree experiences perhaps the most traumatic moment of its seasonal cycle. Precisely for this reason, in the immediately following period it will be advisable to carry out a post-olive harvest treatment that will serve to support the plant and help it overcome this critical phase. The interventions we recommend are 2 and concern one a post-harvest treatment by foliar application, the other a fertilization.
The first operation to be carried out is to carry out a foliar treatment, using:
Hard
- Inex A (dosage: 30ml/100lt)
- KENDAL TE Valagro (dosage: 200ml/100 lt)
This treatment aims to disinfect the plant from the wounds that have been caused to it due to the tools used for harvesting (such as olive harvesters, olive harvesting rakes and much more). In addition, thanks to the presence of microelements such as Magnesium and Zinc and their biostimulant function, we will help the plant to strengthen its natural defenses to overcome post-harvest stress.

Second operation: post-harvest olive fertilization under the canopy
The second post-harvest operation that we recommend is to intervene with organic fertilization, through the use of:
- Yarasuna Rigoglio 8.5.5+11 CaO (dosage: 1-5kg/plant, depending on age and size)
The reasons that lead us to recommend this product are many: in addition to containing organic matter, Yarasuna Rigoglio has more than 8% organic nitrogen, a very important element for the olive tree. Organic nitrogen will be useful in restoring and increasing soil fertility.
Made up of very dry and compact pellets, it is a product that differs from other pelleted organic fertilizers above all for its very low moisture content and, therefore, water inside. Precisely because of these characteristics, the product can be easily used both by those who use fertilizer spreaders and for those who distribute it by hand.
Our last advice is to proceed with a light tillage of the soil, to promote and improve the assimilation of fertilization.
