Bottom fertilization
The ideal time to carry out this type of fertilization is when night temperatures do not drop below 6-7 degrees C.
In this phase, which generally occurs in the months of March-April or even earlier in Southern Italy, we recommend that you administer pure leonardite. The purpose of this intervention is to provide the plant with the first substances useful for vegetative recovery. An excellent practical product to use as fertilizer for potted lemons and other citrus fruits is

Second phase: first fertilization on the soil
You can proceed with the first intervention as soon as you notice the first signs of vegetative recovery. In this case, it will be a fertilizer to be administered with irrigation water and will be very important to provide essential microelements to improve flowering.
The first element we are going to provide will be nitrogen in a readily assimilable form associated with a mix of essential microelements, then we will convey everything with an algae that will give balance and finally we will add a phosphite to increase resistance to stress and fungi. The products we suggest are:
- Sinergon plus Cifo (dosage: 10 ml/10l)
- Organic Cifo Iron (dosage 20 ml/10l)
- Energy plant phosphite Vebi (dosage: 20 ml/10l)
From this moment on, it will be necessary to be constant and attentive to the various phases that will alternate throughout the season. It is very important to alternate a foliar intervention with one in the irrigation water every 15 days until the end of the cycle.
The recipe is always the same but in foliar interventions we will administer 5 ml less for each product:
- Sinergon plus Cifo (dosage: 10 ml/10l)
- Organic Cifo Iron (dosage: 20 ml/10l)
- Energy plant phosphite Vebi (dosage: 20 ml/10l)

When to water citrus fruits in pots?

Adequate irrigation is essential for the success of cultivation in pots. Our suggestion is to keep the soil moist at all times, but never stagnate for more than 24 hours.
To have constant irrigation, it is a good idea to make a mini irrigation system equipped with an irrigation controller and suitable drippers.
