Introduction

Did you know that with our daily work we leave a footprint on our planet? Have you ever heard of the Carbon Footprint? Man in his life on Earth does not leave Nature indifferent, he leaves an imprint. It leaves its imprint because each of our actions corresponds to a precise CO2 emission.

What is Carbon Footprint?

The carbon footprint is a useful parameter for estimating the greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, a product or a service. We at "Perfarelalbero.it" thought it was interesting that we could measure, assign an impactful value to every action we carried out, and become aware of how we are unconsciously condemning ourselves to extinction.

The role of CO2 and the greenhouse effect

But what is CO2? It is carbon dioxide, essential for the life and photosynthesis of plants, but at the same time it is the main culprit of the greenhouse effect, which in turn is an accomplice to the rise in global temperature.

Our commitment to sustainability

As a result, we asked ourselves what we could concretely do and what our contribution could be. Always attentive to quality and environmental sustainability, we have started a process as an act of love for Nature, intended to counteract, in our own small way, climate change.

The actions taken by perfarelalbero.it

We have implemented our corporate energy network using energy from renewable sources. We have installed a photovoltaic system that provides us with almost all the energy we need, reducing the cost of the electricity bill by 80%, and we have installed a boiler for heating and water storage. We have proposed and promoted the reuse of plastic containers for fertilizers.

We reduce our weight for the planet in every area: we have banned plastic bottles for drinking water, installing a cooler filter from which each of us fills his water bottle. We have improved the thermal insulation of the premises by replacing doors and windows with insulating fixtures. In 2020 our fleet will be enriched with the first machine with an electric motor, replacing one with a diesel engine.

Whenever possible, we ship the goods purchased directly from the manufacturer to customers, promoting the short supply chain: from the parent company to our customers.

Change starts with us

We have taken this path to learn first and then suggest how change can be possible. It is enough to want it and become aware that in the world the interests of those who do not want change are so great that they hinder the decisions of governments, but they can do nothing against the will of individuals.

It is therefore up to all of us to act by measuring every action, every consumption and eliminating all waste. The salvation of our planet and our future depends on all of us, on each of us.
