Boron has various functions in plant metabolism

Here are some examples:

it performs the function of immunizing the plant against self-intoxication by polyphenols of the plant itself
stimulates tissue and root growth
optimizes meristematic and metabolic activity
stimulates pollen production
ensures optimal fertilization
optimizes the transport of auxins (phytohormones)
optimizes the plant's water consumption.

Boron also plays an important role in keeping the cell wall healthy (agent
anti-lodging), regulates the distribution of sugars and stimulates a correct multiplication of cells.

Monocots (cereals, corn, onion, leek) are less prone to boron deficiency unlike dichotylidones (beetroot, fruit trees, vegetables, Brussels endive, sunflower).
