Dog Bar Trixie

The syndrome called GDV (gastric dilatation / torsion complex) is a pathology that consists of the increase in the volume of the dog's stomach, associated with its rotation on itself.  GDV is characterized by the rapid and abnormal dilation of the stomach due to an accumulation of gas, sometimes followed by torsion of the organ (volvulus). This torsion closes the entry and exit routes of the stomach, causing the blood vessels to become occluded at the same time and the blood supply to this organ decreases. This leads to increased gastric pressure and compression of the surrounding organs. In the final phase, the decrease in blood supply causes the animal to feel shock. The Dog Bar helps Trixie prevent this pathology as the bowl is placed on a raised surface, so that it does not have to bend over to eat.
